Experienced barista approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Casual position - $40/hr + super
We are a niche specialty coffee van service operating at several stops across inner-city Brisbane between the hours of midnight to 3am. We serve 5 nights a week (Mon-Fri) and also offer our customers delicious freshly baked goods provided by local bakers and businesses each night.
We are looking for someone friendly, energetic and dynamic who can support our owner/lead barista Harry, mostly taking the reins on milk frothing and shot extraction, while Harry manages the front desk and orders. Many of our orders come in via a text-ahead system - some laughs and banter during order prep is a plus! We value keeping the workspace light, having a yarn and enjoying some fun music.
Consistent espresso extraction and smooth milk texturising is a must. Latte art is generally not needed as we are strictly takeaway, however we do expect a degree of presentation when serving our products.
The equipment: Wega Pegaso 2-group, Mazzer Kony Electric grinder, and the convenience of an automatic Puq Press tamper. We use Fonzie Abbott’s organic coffee beans, roughly 15kg-20kg per week.
The successful applicant will:
• make fantastic coffee!
• enjoy a laugh and banter
• feel comfortable managing medium-high order volume
• be able to adjust grind as needed
• maintain and develop relationships with regular/new customers
• provide warm and friendly customer service
• have excellent communication and listening skills
• clean up and maintain workspace during shift
• be able to carry out a shift individually if required
• have at least 1 year barista experience - desirable
